The designers behind a digital token launched by US First Lady Melania Trump are now accused in court filings of executing a market manipulation plot.

Coin Release and Price Surge

The $MELANIA tokens were issued for a minimal price each on January 19, the day before former President Trump took office.

Together with the $MELANIA coin, Trump himself released his own digital currency just ahead of the presidential inauguration.

Within hours, the price of the $MELANIA coin surged to over $13 per unit.

Rapid Decline in Value

Nevertheless, the price then collapsed almost as quickly, and presently trades for approximately a dime – under one percent of its highest value.

Meanwhile, the $TRUMP coin achieved a maximum of $45.47 and now trades for approximately five seventy-nine.

Legal Allegations and Investors' Arguments

The investors assert that the coin's creators executed the maneuver aware that the digital currency's value would crash.

Mrs. Trump personally is not included in the court case. Claimants indicated they do not think she was culpable, but accused the digital currency firms of exploiting her and other well-known personalities as a facade for their illegal activities.

Exchange Platform Involvement

According to recently submitted legal documents, plaintiffs charge executives of the Meteora digital asset exchange, where the First Lady's token was first exchanged, of creating a scheme that permitted them to indirectly purchase significant amounts of the digital token.

Their accomplices then rapidly offloaded these cryptocurrencies, securing large returns while leading to the price to plummet, as stated in papers submitted in New York federal court.

Broader Context

The claims about the Melania token have been incorporated into court cases regarding multiple additional virtual tokens, which began in spring.

The Trump family has allegedly secured over a billion dollars in pre-tax earnings from various digital currency-linked enterprises and organizations over the last year.
